AI-supported Data and System Security
The Honda Research Institute Europe GmbH is looking for a Senior / Postdoctoral Researcher to work on the topic AI-supported Data and System Security in an attractive and international research environment.
The position is part of a research team working in a highly collaborative environment and in close cooperation with experts from universities and institutional partners. Our research activities target to unlock the potential of machine learning and large language models for cyber security. Our unique positioning as a fundamental research institute embedded in an industrial R&D environment allows us to transfer fundamental insights from system security research to realistic application problems.
Your responsibilities
- Scientific research in the field of secure data processing, secure software engineering and secure systems augmented by the capabilities that arise from machine learning techniques
- Contributions to the implementation and validation of cutting-edge prototypes in real-world scenarios for vehicles, robots, or intelligent agents
- Publication and presentation of research results at top-ranking conferences and journals
Your qualifications
- PhD or an excellent Master of Science degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related fields
- PhDs should have a proven track record of excellent research and the ability to define a research agenda aligning with the general research directions of the institute
- Prior experience in at least one of the following research fields: software and system security, vulnerability analysis, threat modeling or applied cryptography
- Prior experience in applying AI methods in the security and privacy domains is advantageous
- Capability to work in a team and independently on specific topics
- Knowledge and experience in programming (preferably Python or C/C++)
